Your data: what is where, and how to delete it
The one-line answer. Everything NuraTxt knows about your messages is on your phone. To delete all of it, clear the app’s storage in Android Settings or uninstall the app. There is nothing of yours on a server of ours to delete, and no account to close.
Where things are
| What | Where it lives | Who can read it |
|---|---|---|
| Your messages (text, senders, times, read state) | The app’s private storage on your phone — and, like every SMS app, your phone’s shared message store | You. Other apps you have given SMS permission can read the shared store; no other app can read NuraTxt’s private storage. Your mobile operator keeps its own records. |
| Photos and files from picture messages | The app’s private storage on your phone | You, inside the app. Save or share one if you want it elsewhere. |
| Contacts | Your phone’s address book, plus a copy of names and numbers in the app’s private storage | You. Never uploaded; the address book is never changed. |
| Drafts, scheduled messages, settings, categories, muted senders, quick replies, recent searches, link checks, and the total time the app has been open | The app’s private storage | You. Never sent anywhere. |
| What the app works out: message types, amounts, codes, Activity, reminders, the money ledger, the search index | The app’s private storage, beside your messages | You. Computed on the phone; never sent anywhere. |
| AI models, the AI’s index of your messages, prepared reply suggestions and speed measurements (only if you turned the AI on) | The app’s private storage; about 1 GB for the models | You. The models are public files and contain nothing about you. |
| Crash reports not yet sent, and the crash-free counter | The app’s private storage | You, in Settings → About → Report a crash. A report reaches us only if you email it. |
| Subscription bookkeeping (the “unlocked until” date, the last check) | The app’s private storage | You. Not your plan, price, order number or payment details. |
| Your subscription and purchase record | Google Play, under your Google account | Google, and you through your Google account. We can see limited purchase details in the Google Play Console. |
| Emails and crash reports you send us | Our mailbox | Us, for as long as needed (Privacy Policy, section 18). |
| Your visits to this website | Our host’s logs; analytics only if you pressed Accept | Us and our providers (Privacy Policy, section 12). |
How your phone protects it
- Android keeps each app’s private storage unreadable by other apps.
- That storage is protected by Android’s own file-based encryption while your phone is locked. NuraTxt adds no encryption of its own, so on a phone without a screen lock, an unlocked phone in someone else’s hands, or a rooted or infected phone, the app’s data can be read. Please set a screen lock.
- NuraTxt opts out of Android’s automatic app backup and device-to-device transfer, so Android does not copy your messages to a cloud backup. Some phone makers run a separate SMS backup of their own; that is theirs to control.
Deleting
One message or one conversation
Press and hold it in the app and delete it. It disappears from every list and search at once and cannot be undone. The file of a deleted picture message stays in the app’s private storage until you clear the app’s storage. Inside the app’s private storage the record is kept marked as deleted — so that re-importing your history cannot bring it back — until you clear the app’s storage. When NuraTxt is your default SMS app, deleting a conversation also asks Android to remove it from the phone’s shared message store. Copies held by your operator, by the person you messaged or by another app are outside NuraTxt’s reach. Reminders already created from a deleted conversation stay until you mark them done.
Old one-time codes, automatically
An option in Settings, off by default, removes old one-time-code messages from the app’s lists and search after a period you choose. It only removes messages the app identified as verification codes; like every deletion in NuraTxt, the message stays in the phone’s shared message store.
Everything the app holds
- Open Android Settings → Apps → NuraTxt → Storage → Clear storage (the wording varies by phone). This deletes every message copy, attachment, setting, reading, reminder, index, AI model and crash report the app holds, immediately, with no request to us.
- Or uninstall the app, which does the same.
This does not:
- delete messages from your phone’s shared message store, which belongs to the phone and is used by whichever SMS app you use next — delete those in NuraTxt before you clear it, or in your next SMS app;
- cancel your subscription, which is in Google Play — see Cancelling.
If NuraTxt is your default SMS app, choose another default SMS app before you uninstall so that it can take over receiving messages.
What you sent us
To have emails or crash reports you sent us deleted, write to privacy@yugcore.com from the same email address. We will confirm when it is done, unless the law requires us to keep something.
What Google keeps
- Google Play: that you installed NuraTxt, and your subscription and its history, under your Google account and the Google Privacy Policy. Manage or delete these through your Google account; we cannot.
- Android vitals: Google may collect crash and performance statistics about apps installed from Google Play. We see only aggregated counts.
Earlier Google Drive copies
Until 2 September 2026, NuraTxt offered an optional, off-by-default feature that uploaded an encrypted copy of your messages to a NuraTxt folder in your own Google Drive. It has been retired: the app no longer creates such copies, and on the first launch after the update that retired it, the app turned the feature off and signed out of the Google account it used.
If you ever used it, files named like nuratxt-backup-….json.enc may still be in your Drive. They were encrypted with a key that never left your phone, and nobody — not you, not us — can open them. To remove them, open Google Drive, find the NuraTxt folder and delete it. You can also remove NuraTxt’s access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Taking your messages with you
Your messages are in your phone’s shared message store, which any SMS app or SMS backup tool can read; nothing in NuraTxt locks them in. NuraTxt itself has no export feature. To keep a message elsewhere, share it from the conversation.
